| New Training & Benchmarking Resources Boost Membership’s Competitive Advantage
Manchester, NH (August 25, 2005) — Flooring America and Flooring Canada focus on
member needs with a re-launch of the Complete Training Program (CTP) and the
introduction of the Flooring America/ Flooring Canada Member Performance Report.
“Over the last year the Complete Training Program has received exceptional
member participation because members have been able to choose a training program to
specifically meet their needs,” said Lee Wedgeworth, director of education, IT
management, and process improvement. “Now, we’re bringing members even more skill-
and service-enhancing tools that are guaranteed to give our membership a compelling
competitive advantage.”
Flooring America and Flooring Canada have amplified their CTP with the
addition of Stainmaster® as the new sponsor. “This program has proven to be a
significant advantage to help our members keep and recruit the best people in their
market,” said Vinnie Virga, president of Flooring America. Formerly a 4-day program,
CTP now consists of six customizable CTP day sessions from Flooring America
University experts on a variety of topics, including: benefiting from the power of brands,
color and style recommendations, hard surface sales, and adapting the sales approach.
Each one-day session is offered on consecutive days to allow members to send their
entire staff without sacrificing store coverage. “Stainmaster’s top instructors are also
collaborating to educate members on becoming more profitable,” said Virga. Members
schedule specific CTP courses as part of their Neighborhood Network meetings. Each
Neighborhood Network decides the what, when, and where of each CTP.
In addition, Flooring America and Flooring Canada introduced the Member
Performance Report, a benchmarking program that provides members with an in-depth
analysis of their businesses and assess key profit components vital to maximizing profits.
This program allows members to see an apple-to-apple comparison of their businesses to
other Flooring America locations by classifying stores into groups based upon their
business.
“One of the key things members wanted was a way to measure and compare their
individual successes by having meaningful reports that detail improvement,” said
Wedgeworth. “Now members can better determine opportunities to drive progress.”
