| Flooring America and Flooring Canada Launch Star Cushion Program
Manchester, NH (July 19, 2007) — Last year, when the rebond cushion market was taking it on the chin with severe shortages and sky-high prices, Flooring America and Flooring Canada launched a highly successful rubber cushion program called DreamWalk to fill the void and meet consumer demand. And now that rebond stockpiles have recovered and prices have fallen, Flooring America and Flooring Canada will introduce a new rebond line to give their customers a broader range of cushion choices.
“This new cushion program will give our stores a complete cushion selection in every possible combination of price, quality, and warranty coverage,” said Randy Upson, Flooring America’s director of soft surface merchandising. “The right cushion is almost as important as the carpet itself, and we’re delighted to be able to offer so many outstanding choices.”
Called StarCushion, the new rebond product line will be in Flooring America and Flooring Canada showrooms next month. Upson said the company is working with vendors to establish regional pricing – a first-of-its-kind plan that would bring pricing uniformity to cushion buys on a product whose price often fluctuates from store to store.
“DreamWalk was a huge success when rebond went through the roof, and it’s a product that many consumers favor,” said Upson. “And now with StarCushion, we’ll add a superior rebond product, and we’ll be prepared for every market fluctuation. In fact, we’re going to put both of these displays side by side. It’s good for business, and good for our customers.”
