Manchester, NH (July 19, 2007) - — Flooring America’s Go Red For Women partnership is in full summer swing with a new push to raise funds to fight heart disease.

As the floor covering retailer prepares for its third Red Tag sale since announcing its sponsorship of Go Red in March 2006, Flooring America members have fully embraced the cause – even adding a “Casino Night” fundraiser benefiting Go Red to the group’s closing convention event aboard the Belle of Cincinnati riverboat on Friday July 20.

“This is part of our brand now, it’s part of who we are as a company,” said Flooring America’s Vice President of Marketing Debi Binder. “The American Heart Association has been wonderful to work with, and our members are so proud and eager to help. It’s one of the best things we’ve ever done as a company and we look forward to another very successful fundraising sale for Go Red during the month of August.”

Only three years old, Go Red has grown from a grassroots campaign into a vital national movement. Using the simple phrase, “Love Your Heart,” Go Red is mobilizing women, men, celebrities, healthcare providers, and politicians to embrace and elevate the cause of women and heart disease – the leading cause of death among women in the United States.

Next month’s Red Tag sale also marks the start of a new design for Flooring America’s monthly circulars, featuring a cleaner, more open look focused on floor covering categories, and featuring fewer individual products. The new design complements the co-op’s Vision 2008 initiative to update the look, layout and physical comfort of all stores throughout North America.

“We’ve had two Red Tag sales since we joined Go Red and we are delighted to have raised $98,000 so far,” said Binder. “That’s a great start for our first year, and we look forward to doubling and tripling that amount in the future. Heart disease affects so many lives and every bit counts to help fund critical research to help women everywhere lead healthier lives.”

In addition to hosting Red Tag sales, Flooring America recently raised $10,000 for Go Red to honor the memory and legacy of Mike Englert, Flooring America’s former vice president of merchandising who passed away in February at age 53. The Englert donation will be part of a $33,000 check presented to the AHA on Friday, July 20 at convention.

Flooring America members have also boosted AHA events throughout the country including sponsorship of February’s Heart Ball in the company’s hometown of Manchester, NH. Members participated in National Wear Red Day to raise awareness for women and the threat from heart disease, and have fielded volunteer teams in their local communities for the annual heart walk.

“We love Go Red, and we’re honored to be able to join forces with the American Heart Association,” said Vinnie Virga, president of Flooring America. “And we’re also humbled that so many of our manufacturers have been eager to help support this effort. Many thanks to everyone for all their help. We hope to maintain our partnership with Go Red for a very long time.”
