| Flooring America and Flooring Canada Launch Star Cushion Program
Manchester, NH (July 19, 2007) - — A vibrant new line of contemporary ceramic tile is coming to Flooring America and Flooring Canada showrooms this fall.
The new Design Distinctions collection delivers an upscale, fashion-focused lineup to the growing popularity of tile and adds a welcome designer touch to the comprehensive porcelain and ceramic offerings at Flooring America and Flooring Canada stores.
“We’re very excited about this new tile collection,” said Flooring America’s vice president of marketing Debi Binder. “It’s bold, it’s daring, it’s confident and cool. It’s designed for the customer who wants the ultimate in personal self-expression. And it fits nicely with this surface since tile delivers so many options for truly custom floors.”
The new collection debuts on the heels of Design Distinction’s carpet line which hit Flooring America and Flooring Canada showrooms in the spring. The carpet collection’s commitment to quality and expressive design sparked Flooring America and Flooring Canada’s interest in expanding the brand to include tile.
“When we saw the initial work for the carpet line we knew we wanted to take the same approach with tile,” said Binder. “These are fresh, invigorating designs that speak to customers looking for unique styles that reflect their personality and sense of adventure.”
Flooring America’s Director of Hard Surface Merchandising Bill Snowdon said Design Distinctions tile will be available in stores in September, and will be housed in its own wing display featuring 66 sample boards. This will be the second new tile display for Flooring America and Flooring Canada in the last year, but Snowdon said consumers keep demanding more due to tile’s steady march into other areas of the home from its longstanding dominance in kitchens and baths.
“It’s pretty amazing what’s happening with tile,” said Snowdon. “Tile is now being used to decorate entire rooms – to cover walls as well as floors. With accents, borders, and inlays, there are really unlimited choices with this classic surface.”
