| Imperial Flooring Joins Flooring Canada
Manchester, NH (April 2, 2007) - Flooring Canada is delighted to welcome Imperial Flooring of Winnipeg, MB into its rapidly expanding family of retail stores nationwide.
Imperial brings a proud history and outstanding floor covering expertise to the cooperative, which now numbers 61 stores throughout eight provinces. Imperial owner Gary Shnier, whose father and extended family founded and previously operated Canada’s largest flooring distributorship, said the new affiliation will bring essential branding power and economies of scale to better serve his customers.
“This is a great fit for our firm,” said Shnier. “Along with Flooring Canada’s name recognition and outstanding business model, we’ll be able to pass down better pricing and a larger selection to our customers. And I’m especially thrilled to be joining a team with a great vision for building the ultimate flooring retail store.”
Imperial will become a prototype store for Flooring Canada’s “Vision 2008” – a top-to-bottom renovation that will revolutionize the interior and exterior of all Flooring Canada stores to improve layout, selection, and enhance the physical shopping comfort for consumers. Shnier’s 12,000 sq. ft. store will receive all new fixtures, displays, signs, and architectural design elements by July. As part of the re-design, the store will change its name to Imperial Flooring Canada.
