| Flooring America Named Finalist In 2006 American Business Awards
Manchester, NH (June13, 2006) – Flooring America was named a Finalist in the Best TV or Cinema Campaign category in The 2006 American Business Awards.
Hailed as the “business world’s own Oscars” by the New York Post (April 27, 2005), The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.
The annual gala took place Monday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 800 executives from across the U.S. were expected to attend, and the ceremonies were videocast on the Internet and broadcast on the radio.
More than 1,500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories. Flooring America competed in the TV/Cinema Ad Campaign category with the submission of their innovative infomercial. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in March through early May.
The Flooring America infomercial is a nationally aired direct response television advertisement, driving traffic to Flooring America's 500 independently owned stores. The infomercial, run in a one, two, and thirty-minute version, contains call to action spots featuring a website address and a 1-800 number. By calling the 1-800 number or visiting the website, the consumer could request a free flooring decorating kit. Both methods captured customer information, later forwarded to the stores and housed in a corporate database. The infomercial also supports the company's national branding campaign by highlighting Flooring America's unique Points of Difference and Home Emagination computer system.
