Manchester, NH (August 4, 2005) - Flooring America and Flooring Canada have lined-up an exciting schedule of informative educational events and trend-setting product introductions for New Vistas, the 2005 Summer Convention on Thursday, August 25 to Friday, August 26 at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa located in Tucson, Arizona.

As the second major convention of the year, New Vistas incorporates Flooring America and Flooring Canada's goals for their membership in 2006. "Throughout the convention we will weave in three inspiring sub-themes: heritage, adventure, and momentum," explained Vinnie Virga, President of Flooring America. "Heritage addresses the power of each store's local ownership, their entrepreneurial spirit, leadership in the industry, and presence in their communities. Adventure captures the constantly evolving world of retail and the challenge of overcoming our biggest competitors. And Momentum represents the unstoppable, driving force behind Flooring America and Flooring Canada to continue securing double-digit increases by building success with innovative new products and programs."

New Vistas will follow the Flooring America/Flooring Canada convention format of short General Sessions with a blend of three, pre-convention educational sessions on Wednesday, business-related presentations, and six interactive rolling breakouts to keep members energized. Flooring America and Flooring Canada have chosen industry experts and other special guests specifically for members, including: Jonathan Trivers, Floor Covering Weekly columnist; Warren Tyler, Floor Covering News columnist; Leatrice Eiseman, spokesperson for Pantone, Inc.; Mark Sanborn, leadership development expert, and many more.

In addition, Flooring America and Flooring Canada will continue to keep members ahead of flooring fashion trends with new product introductions and core display retrofits. In reaction to today's market, the Bedford Mills Hardwood Collection, a Flooring America/Flooring Canada private label, will receive an update with the addition of solid and engineered domestic and exotic species in hand-scraped, distressed, and rustic looks. The Floor Trends laminate program has been completely restyled to include a number of sophisticated, upscale styles from Alloc, Columbia, and Mannington. However, the most important product launch will be Resista(tm), a broadloom fiber, unique to Flooring America.

As usual, Flooring America and Flooring Canada will unveil new advertising programs and promotions for the first half of 2006. Members can also expect to take advantage of convention-only discounts on core items, during Thursday evening's Gold Rush event. Finally, the convention will wrap up with an authentic Wild West closing event at the scenic Old Tucson Studios, a site constructed for the 1939 film, Arizona, starring Jean Arthur and William Holden.
