It Again
Las Vegas-The International Design Guild held their annual
drawing for a luxury vehicle during Surfaces this year. On display
at the British Wool Booth with the Design Guild was a 2004 Jaguar
X series. All members of the Design Guild attending the International
Design Guild Conference, which was held in the days prior to
Surfaces, were eligible to win the vehicle, based on the number
of LUXE dollars they acquired from Design-Guild Partners. LUXE
dollars are given to members in proportion to products purchased
from Design Guild Partners & Suppliers.
Sam Presnell, owner of The Rug Gallery in Cincinnati, was
the grand prize winner of the Jaguar this year. His win came
as a surprise to all attending the drawing, because there were
hundreds of Luxe Dollars to draw from, and Presnell ironically
was also the winner of the vehicle last year. Only in Las Vegas…
The four runners-up did not walk away empty handed. Lisa Nelson,
of Carlson’s Fine Rugs & Floorcoverings in Geneva,
IL won $500, as did Bernie Madden, of Madden McFarland Interiors
in Leawood, KS. Jay Bremen of Design Center Carpets in Washington
D.C was the winner of $1000 cash. And the prize of $2000 went
to Bill Allen of Allen Interior Furnishings, in St. Louis, MO.
“After this, we may have to put a clause in for the drawing,”
joked Krista Eliason, Vice President of the International Design
Guild. “What are the odds of Sam winning twice in a row?”
Presnell too, laughed at his second win “My customers
are going to think I’m charging too much, when I show
up with another Jaguar!”
