CINCINNATI, OH (July 16, 2005) – Worldwide retail leader CCA Global Partners has made a pledge to be an environmentally-conscious company. This fall, CCA Global will launch the “Green Select” initiative, committing to better the environment through their relationships with their member community, suppliers and employees. CCA Global divisions Carpet One Floor & Home, Flooring America, ProSource and Stone Mountain/GCO/The Floor Trader announced the Green Select initiative to their members at company conventions held this week in Cincinnati.

“Today we are facing numerous environmental challenges, including global warming, energy deficiency and the depletion of our natural resources,” noted CCA Global Partners co-CEO Howard Brodsky. “Though we may not see the affects today, we must always be thinking to the future. Through Green Select, CCA Global Partners is dedicated to acting as an environmentally responsible company at every level of our business operations.”

As part of Green Select, CCA Global has developed a Charter and a set of goals. The company’s Charter states that it will provide educational resources, model positive behavior and maintain an open relationship with suppliers, members, employees and competitors to determine environmentally-friendly business practices.

CCA Global’s Green Select goals are broken down into three categories: corporate level, member level and product / supplier level. On a corporate level, Green Select initiatives include recycling, resource conservation, education and partnerships. The company plans to start with small changes like encouraging corporate employees to turn off lights, offering recycling services and printing on recycled paper. CCA Global will encourage its member and franchisee locations to adopt many of the same goals.

On a member level, CCA Global will create a Green Select store certification program to reward those members that make the pledge to “go green.” CCA Global University is also developing online courses to educate members about environmentally conscious practices and options. Finally, CCA Global has determined specific criteria for green products and has and created new ways to promote these green products to the public

“As a global organization with 3,600 locations, we not only have the ability, but we have the responsibility to protect the environment we live and work in,” said Alan Greenberg, co-CEO of CCA Global Partners. “Leveraging our power as a group, we can truly make a significant positive impact on our environment. We look forward to working with our members, employees and industry colleagues to “go green.”

To show their level of commitment to this new green initiative, CCA Global has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant one tree for every convention attendee. Brodsky explained that this donation will aid in the reforestation efforts needed as a result of the recent wildfires in the western part of the U.S.

The Green Select initiative will be visible in Carpet One Floor & Home, Flooring America, ProSource and Stone Mountain/GCO/The Floor Trader locations starting October 1, 2007. Consumers will see point-of-purchase materials explaining the store’s commitment to making “the earth friendly choice” – the initiative’s tagline – and products marked as “green selections.”

Brodsky and Greenberg are fully aware that “green” is an ever-evolving topic. They explained CCA Global’s commitment to being proactive and engaged in developing new goals and adjusting their initiatives to continually make a positive impact on our environment.
