| CARPET ONE NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF MERCHANDISING
ST. LOUIS, MO(November 10, 2005) – Carpet One is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Wheeler as Vice President of Merchandising. Wheeler joins Carpet One with 18 years of experience in the floor covering industry. He has been involved in all facets of the industry, from retail sales to corporate management and merchandising.
Prior to accepting this position, Wheeler served as the Executive Vice President for Avalon Carpet, Tile & Flooring in Cherry Hill, NJ. While at Avalon, he was instrumental in growing the company’s product assortment and significantly increasing their sales.
As Vice President of Merchandising, Wheeler will be responsible for overseeing Carpet One’s product merchandising department. He will be based in the company’s St. Louis, MO office and will report directly to Charlie Dilks, the COO of Carpet One and President of Carpet One Canada.
“Scott is a really great addition to Carpet One,” said Dilks. “His knowledge and experience will allow us to continue to provide innovative merchandising and product to Carpet One members and their customers. We’re very fortunate that he will be heading up our merchandising department and I’m excited that I’ll have the opportunity to work with him.”
Before working with Avalon Carpet, Tile & Flooring, Wheeler served as President/Vice President of Flooring America Franchise Division (which was later acquired by Carpet One’s parent company, CCA Global Partners). He also worked for Mohawk Industries, Inc. as a Territory Manager and at floor covering retailer Sandler & Worth, Inc., after earning his AA in Business Administration-Marketing.
Wheeler has also earned the designation of Certified Flooring Executive (CFE) and has been a member of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) since 2002.
Though he currently lives in New Jersey, Wheeler will be relocating to St. Louis with his wife and two sons.
