TORONTO, ON (July 29, 2005) – This fall, Carpet One and Good Housekeeping will be introducing 20 new styles into their Good Housekeeping carpet collection. All of the new styles will be constructed with Carpet One’s revolutionary new polyester fiber, Resista™.

Using the recent technological breakthroughs in polyester fiber, Carpet One has produced Resista™ fiber, exclusively for the Good Housekeeping carpet collection.

Resista™ offers excellent quality and durability because it naturally resists stains, spills and fading. Carpet One’s new polyester fiber also features enhanced color clarity, so all of the new Good Housekeeping carpet styles have noticeably brighter and richer colors, and it is extremely soft.

In addition, Good Housekeeping styles with Resista™ can be sold at low to mid-range price points, compared to other Good Housekeeping styles that are made with nylon. With the escalation of nylon prices making nylon-based carpeting more expensive, polyesters like Resista™ offer greater value to consumers.

Like all of Carpet One’s Good Housekeeping collection, the new styles have been tested by the Good Housekeeping Institute for quality, performance and durability. Each new style has earned the prestigious Good Housekeeping Seal and is protected by the magazine’s renowned Consumers’ Policy.

“I’m very happy to announce that we’ll be partnering with Good Housekeeping to introduce our new Resista™ polyester fiber,” said Charlie Dilks, COO of Carpet One and President of Carpet One Canada. “These products will offer consumers the best combination of quality and performance, at an affordable price. Plus, they know it has been tested by Good Housekeeping!”

“Good Housekeeping makes it a priority to offer solutions that make consumers’ lives easier while delivering quality and great style,” says Glen Ellen Brown, Vice President of Hearst Brand Development. “This new line of high-quality, poly-fiber carpeting from Carpet One is designed to deliver innovative technology features that offer enormous consumer benefit. We're thrilled to be building on Good Housekeeping's already successful partnership with Carpet One by introducing more tested and trusted products to the marketplace.”

The 20 new styles, which include friezes, loops and textured saxonies, will be incorporated into the Good Housekeeping Collection in stores this October.
