| TBS Advertising Pays Off for Members and One Very Lucky Customer
Manchester, NH, (May 26, 2005) – The Biking Solution (TBS) announced that Dennis Richards of Mission, Texas is the National Grand Prize winner in its 2nd annual Gear Up for Spring/Tour de France Sweepstakes.
The winning entry came from Bicycle World Fitness Systems, which has been a TBS member for the past two years. “I couldn’t have been more shocked when we were notified that the national winner came from our store. I feel like we won the lottery or something!” exclaimed store owner Henry Roberts, who has stores in Harlingen and McAllen, Texas. “I’m really happy for Dennis Richards. He’s been a loyal customer of our McAllen store.”
Richards, was selected from thousands of contestants nationwide. The Grand Prize, valued at $3,100, is a trip for two to Paris, corresponding to the dates of the Tour de France.
Members advertised the national Gear Up for Spring/Tour de France promotion in April using advertising circulars, direct mail, point-of-purchase materials, newspaper ads, and radio spots created by The Biking Solution. Participating stores noticed sizable increases in store traffic and the contest generated hundreds of new customer names that retailers can market to in the coming months. “This promotion is something that we never could have done on our own,” said Roberts. “It allows us to compete on a whole different level. The advertising looks professional, and when we combine that with the lowest consumer finance rates in the industry, it’s a one two punch that has worked for us over and over again.”
In congratulating Richards, Greg Brodsky, Managing Director of The Biking Solution, said, “This is the second year we’ve run this national promotion. It was extremely successful last year, and this year exceeded our expectations! Bicycle World Fitness Systems the Biking Solution member who submitted the winning entry, has two locations: 1113 S. 77 Sunshine Strip in Harlingen, Texas and 2025 Nolana in McAllen, Texas.
